"Recovering from a pneumonia, I created my own cinema, using the empty Penicillin bottles. My younger brother became my assistant. When we had a new movie, he would go around and announce the show to the children in the neighbourhood. Then he would issue hand made tickets and sell them at the door. (He would give the money back to children after the movie.) I would hide behind a curtain and with my hands move the medicine bottles and speak with the voice of my characters, among which were Napoleon and Desiree. That’s perhaps how I discovered the pleasure of transforming. This experience became perhaps the essence of my writing and playwriting. Perhaps it also became the essence of my faith in making the impossible possible." - Ana Ingham
